we provided the music for floating couture treatment, a show which was part of the amsterdam fashion week spring summer 2013 down town schedule.

fashion week’s artistic director carlo wijnands and super stylist ruud van der peijl showed (in cooperation with dentists lassus) about forty dutch haute couture pieces from different eras and designers, from max heijmans, fong leng and frans molenaar to mart visser and mattijs van bergen.
the show took place on a floating catwalk on the keizersgracht, one the famous amsterdam canals. the audience was seated on stands and on boats situated around the red carpet runway in an abundance of exquisite moët & chandon champagne.

the inspiration was polder glamour and an infamous dutch celebrity tv show called glamourland. the netherlands are not that famous for their glamour but sometimes try their very best, so this one had to be tongue in cheek and a party. we took it all way beyond over the top and used only music by larger than life artists and diva’s like shirley bassey, elvis presley, tom jones, dusty spring field, eartha kitt and grace jones and added the great sebastian tellier. we took the mix to a james bond feel and added the voice of christina aguilera talking about fashion: it’s a life style, it’s all about love and glamouououououour….

models were from different era’s too, ladies who once were famous mannequins worked the runway like they had never left it, some wore dental braces or toothbrush tiara’s, sometimes they were accompanied by king poodles or miniature designer dogs who wore diamond necklaces or just plain christmas tree decorations. the finale was a blast: 8 models came out in bathing suits and jumped into the canal and did a splendid synchronized swimming routine to the final countdown, which made everybody scream.

this show was one of the most fun and hilarious shows we ever did. we loved it. have a listen to the mix!
