we provided the music for the bread & butter denim religion show. it was one of the most exciting projects we ever did, working in total freedom with a great team. creative consultant kees kreuter, stylist maarten spruyt, art-directors brigitte and jolanda from and beyond and the guys from Wink as the big boss are just a few of the many who made this event legendary.
the show was all about religion and denim, to give denim an extra push back into the market. the looks involved great styling and pieces by many many brands. casting was amazing too! we loved every part of it big time. the music is now streaming online, enjoy the mix!
because of the religious theme we had to be careful not to offend anybody of the international guests, so we chose music which wasn’t religious but had a mythical feel to it. we used brian eno and david byrne, patti smith, trippple nippples and junkie xl, johnny cash, philip glass, traditional berber and hebrew folk music, the scala choir and much much more. each themed entry had it’s own music, going from amish into pelgrims to berber to neon saints, new age, eastern philosphy, dia de los muertos, voodoo and ending with judaism and a christian procession.
we did the show 5 times, the 1st one was at midnight and the official opening of bread & butter.
